This course, led by Dr. Nick Fulco, will provide an introduction to Telehealth 101 for esports practice. Dr. Fulco is a physical therapist who has transitioned into esports in 2020 and has experience treating both professional and collegiate esports players. The course will cover various regulations for telehealth by occupation and location, marketing materials to help practitioners thrive in this niche population, session preparation and necessary intake forms, technology and provider setup, common body regions and pathologies seen in esports, and a SOAP note format for evaluation and examination. Additionally, the course will provide an overview of telehealth and its definition, its origins in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the position of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) on telehealth.
Nicholas Fulco PT, DPT, Cert. DN is a Physical Therapist working in outpatient orthopaedics and sports rehab. He received his undergraduate from Louisiana Tech University in Kinesiology and Health Sciences in Ruston, Louisiana. He then received a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in St. Augustine, Florida. He has worked with professional, collegiate, high school, and recreational esports and traditional sports since 2019 and currently operate in a sports medicine clinical setting. His gaming passions include FPS, MOBA, and Battle Royale games. He is a contributing author to the esports health and performance institute and is involved with the team services at 1HP.
